• A few weeks ago, Monica was cradling Ariana and cuddling her and giving her lots of hugs and kisses and Monica said, "Mommy's baby." To which Ari replied, "No! Mommy's girl!" *sniff!* She's growing up so fast. :)


• When Ariana acts up, we bring out her 'naughty chair,' a little stool we put in the corner that we make her sit on for 2 minutes (a good rule of thumb we've heard is 1 minute for every year). Anyway, apparently, her teddy bear was being naughty, as she plopped it down on the stool, stood next to it, crossed her arms and scowled, which, I guess is exactly what we do when we punish her. :P


• Ari had her 2 year checkup a couple days ago. She's doing well, about average height (45%) and weight (60%), but still with a HUGE (90%) head. She really does not like getting poked an prodded by the doctor, but our pediatrician had a few tricks up her sleeve, like having Ariana "blow out" the light on that little scope they use to look at your throat or ears, and have daddy hold the stethoscope.


• The doctor also had some tips on potty training. She suggested that we let Ariana run around naked, so that if she starts leaking, she'll feel it run down her leg. This helped a lot. On Tuesday, Ariana went pee pee in the potty 5 times, all by herself, with only a couple small accidents. She would even take the pot out of the potty and bring it into the bathroom and try and flush it herself. We also did the old kitty housebreaking trick of putting her potty in the area she's chosen to go do her business, which in this case is behind the recliner in the family room. She normally goes back there if she needs to poop, and will get very upset if you invade her privacy to ask if she wants to go use the potty in the bathroom.


• Ariana is also a budding artist. Here is a picture of mommy. She puts the eyes in the right place, there are two ears on the sides, and hair on the top. If she draws daddy, there is a beard on the bottom, too.
